Hey there! I’m glad you’ve dropped by my little space on the internet. I’m an orthodontics specialist based in Dublin, Ireland, but my roots stretch back to Syria, where I was born into pretty much all about teeth—with a dad who’s a maxillofacial surgeon and a mom who works as a general dentist. So, I guess you could say that dentistry runs in the family!
In 2008, I qualified as a dentist, and over the next few years, I found myself getting into orthodontics after working in both hospitals and private practices. My academic journey led me through some incredible places, starting with a one-year postgraduate certificate in orthodontics at the University of Warwick/England and then completing a three-year clinical doctorate orthodontic program at University College Cork.
Today, I’ve gathered a bunch of qualifications that no other orthodontist in Ireland has, including membership/fellowship in orthodontics diplomas from all the Royal Colleges across Dublin, London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, a master’s degree, and advanced specialist training in lingual orthodontics from the University of Padova in Italy. It’s been an exciting ride!
In 2024, I pushed the boundaries by becoming Ireland’s first and only orthodontist to be a diplomate of the European Board of Aligner Orthodontics (EBAO). It was a big moment for me, showcasing that you can achieve top-notch results with clear aligners despite their inherent limitations. I also passed the assessment exam to become an active member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics (ESLO), the 2nd orthodontist in Ireland ever to be admitted as an active member.
When I’m not in the clinic aligning teeth, I’m soaking up life in Dublin with my wonderful wife, Nikita, and Bella, who could easily win the title of the world’s most adorable dog.
I love staying active—I even clinched the title of Ireland’s natural bodybuilding champion for three years straight and competed in the world championships. I’m also into reading a lot, particularly nonfiction and self-help books, exploring the outdoors, and hitting the road for memorable trips.
I truly believe in nurturing both the mind and body for overall well-being. Kicking off my days with a workout and some quiet meditation sets the perfect tone, keeping me energised and ready to provide the best care for my patients and pursue my passion for orthodontics.
The highlight for me is that every day, I get to do what I love the most—transforming smiles and boosting people’s confidence and self-esteem. It’s so much more than just a job to me; it’s a passion that I’m incredibly grateful for. Thanks for stopping by; I look forward to meeting you in person!
I recommend and prescribe orthodontic treatments to my patients as if they were my own family and I value meaningful relationships based on communication, confidence and trust.
